🎨 Rich Text (MiniMessage)

On this page, you will learn where you can use MiniMessage formatting in Phoenix Duels.

#Information

Phoenix Duels now understands MiniMessage tags, like <red>, , or <gradient:#ff5555:#5555ff>, on top of the classic & color codes. This lets you use gradients and other rich formatting that & codes can't do. It requires a Paper (or Paper-fork) server. On Spigot, tags are not understood, so keep using & codes there.

#Where it works today

Chat messages - kill messages, command feedback, broadcasts, and more.
Scoreboard - the sidebar title and lines shown during a match.

#Where it doesn't work yet

Titles, subtitles, the action bar, boss bars, nametags, and the tab list still only support & codes for now.

#Usage notes

Legacy & codes (including &#RRGGBB hex) keep working everywhere exactly as before.
Use one style per line. A line only renders as MiniMessage if it has no & codes in it, so don't mix &c and <red> in the same line.
GUI item names and lore already supported MiniMessage before this and are unaffected.
