Open Money Cost

Open Money Cost

On this page

Open Money Cost is an alternative way for players to open crates without needing a key. If you want to use the open money cost alone, make sure to disable the key requirement.

The plugin currently supports 8 methods for the open money cost, these are the following:

Engine Requires Plan
None Nothing, this is the default and means the cost is disabled Lite
XP Nothing, it uses the player's experience levels Lite
Vault Vault and an economy plugin Lite
PlayerPoints PlayerPoints Premium
VotingPlugin VotingPlugin Premium
ExcellentEconomy ExcellentEconomy Premium
Placeholder PlaceholderAPI Premium
PhoenixCurrencies PhoenixCurrencies Premium

An engine whose plugin is not installed cannot be selected.

For ExcellentEconomy and PhoenixCurrencies, right-click the engine to also pick which of that plugin's currencies is charged.

When a crate needs no key and the Mass Opening add-on is enabled for it, players can open it several times at once and pay the cost once per opening.

#Placeholder Currency

The Placeholder engine turns any balance exposed through PlaceholderAPI into a crate cost, for example tokens or gems from another plugin. Select the Placeholder engine on the crate's open cost and right-click it to set the cost amount and the currency. The currency is shared by every crate that uses the Placeholder engine:

  • Balance Placeholder returns the player's balance. Commas are ignored and k, m, b, t suffixes are read, so 1.5k counts as 1500.
  • Withdraw Command runs from the console to take the cost. %player%, %amount% and %amount_int% (rounded up) are filled in.
  • Display Name is shown after the amount, as in 250 Tokens.
  • Whole Numbers rounds every cost up to a whole number.

The plugin cannot tell whether the withdraw command worked. Test it once on a player with a known balance.

Fill in both fields before using the engine. Without a balance placeholder no player can afford the crate, and without a withdraw command it opens without taking anything.

#Whole Numbers and Decimals

Not every engine can charge a fraction:

  • Vault, ExcellentEconomy and PhoenixCurrencies accept decimal amounts, so 19.99 works.
  • XP, PlayerPoints and VotingPlugin are whole numbers only. A decimal is cut down to the whole number below it, so 2.9 charges 2.

ExcellentEconomy and PhoenixCurrencies decide this per currency, so a currency without decimals behaves like the second group. Placeholder follows its Whole Numbers setting.

#Confirmation

Before the cost is taken the player gets a confirmation menu showing what they are about to pay. That menu can be turned off server-wide with Disable Confirmation Menus in the editor's Settings, which sends players straight to the opening.
