Add-ons Gamemodes

๐Ÿงจ TNT Tag

On this page, you will learn more about the TNT Tag rule.

#Information

The TNT Tag add-on hands live TNT to one or more players at the start of every round. Whoever is holding it when the fuse runs out is blown up, and the survivors go again with a fresh fuse. Hitting another player passes the TNT on. This add-on requires PhoenixDuels Premium.

#Installation

To install this add-on, simply drag and drop the jar file into the PhoenixDuels/addons folder, or include the add-on while using the bundle download option to download the plugin.

This add-on adds TNT Tag as a gamemode rule to the plugin, and generates the following file:

  • PhoenixDuels/translations/tnttag.translations.en.yml - The translation file for the add-on.

#How it Plays

Combat damage is disabled entirely while the rule is active โ€” players cannot kill each other by hitting. The only two ways out of a round are holding the TNT when it detonates, or falling below the battle region.

  1. When the round starts, the configured number of players is picked at random and given the TNT. It sits on their head and, if enabled, makes them glow.
  2. A tagged player passes the TNT by hitting an untagged player on another team. The hit deals no damage โ€” it only moves the bomb.
  3. The freshly tagged player cannot be tagged back until the pass cooldown expires, so the TNT cannot bounce between the same two players.
  4. When the fuse hits zero, every holder is eliminated. If two or more players are still alive, the fuse resets and the TNT is handed out again.

If a tagged player is eliminated some other way โ€” falling out of the arena, disconnecting โ€” the TNT is passed to a random survivor instead of disappearing with them.

#Match Settings

The TNT Tag rule's settings let you configure:

  • Fuse Time - how many seconds the TNT burns before it explodes.
  • Tagged Players - how many players are given the TNT each round. Always capped at one below the number of players alive, so somebody is always safe.
  • Pass Cooldown - how many seconds must pass before a player who was just tagged can be tagged again.
  • Glowing - whether players holding the TNT glow for everyone else. Requires 1.9 or newer.
  • Action Bar - toggles the countdown action bar.
  • Action Bar Format - the countdown text, using %time% for the seconds left and %tagged% for who is holding it.

#Placeholders

The TNT Tag add-on adds the following placeholders that you can use on the Scoreboard:

  1. %tnttag_time_remaining% - Returns the seconds left on the fuse.
  2. %tnttag_tagged% - Returns how many players are currently holding the TNT.
  3. %tnttag_team1_remaining% through %tnttag_team4_remaining% - Returns the number of players still alive on that team slot.
