#Betting

When two players or two parties arrange a custom match, they can put something on the line. Betting comes in two independent flavours, money and items, and each can be switched off for the whole server.

Both options are also editable in the editor, under Settings > Universal Settings.

#Money Betting

Money betting requires Vault together with an economy plugin.

Without Vault installed, money betting does nothing at all. Nothing is withdrawn and nothing is paid out, and the plugin does not warn you at startup, so the option can look like it is working when it is not.

The stake is withdrawn from every participant when the match starts, and the full pot is paid to the winning side when it ends. A player who cannot afford the stake blocks the match from starting, and the message names them.

#Item Betting

Item betting opens the items_betting menu, where each player drops in the items they want to wager. items-betting.max-items-per-player caps how many items a single player may stake.

Once the match ends, the losing side's stakes go to the winners, and the winners get their own stakes back.

#Refunds

Stakes are returned in full when a match does not produce a winner. That covers a draw, a match cancelled before it began, and a match that was forcibly ended.

If a player's inventory is full when their items are returned, or they are offline when a payout is made, the items go to their Lost Items storage instead. They are never dropped on the ground and never destroyed.

#Finishing Time

A match that ends with a betting payout uses the Extended Finishing Seconds value rather than the default one, so players have time to read the result before they are moved out of the arena.
