Add-ons Gamemodes

๐Ÿงถ Wool Wars

On this page, you will learn more about the Wool Wars rule.

#Information

The Wool Wars add-on turns a platform in the middle of your arena into the objective. Both teams get endless wool in their own color and race to cover the platform with it, breaking each other's wool along the way. First team to own enough of it wins the round. This add-on requires PhoenixDuels Premium.

#Installation

To install this add-on, simply drag and drop the jar file into the PhoenixDuels/addons folder, or include the add-on while using the bundle download option to download the plugin.

This add-on adds Wool Wars as a gamemode rule to the plugin, and generates the following file:

  • PhoenixDuels/translations/woolwars.translations.en.yml - The translation file for the add-on.

#Create a Gamemode

Create a gamemode dedicated for Wool Wars.

2

#Select Rule

Select the Generated rule Wool Wars and any other rule you might want.

3

#Build the Platform

Build the objective out of the platform block โ€” white wool by default โ€” inside the arena's battle region. Every block of that type becomes a claimable slot.

4

#Create a Map

Create a map dedicated for this ruleset, and make sure Regeneration is enabled so the platform resets between matches.

#The Platform

When a round starts, the battle region is scanned and every block matching the platform material is registered as a claimable slot. Those slots are the only place in the arena where players can build.

  • Placing wool on an empty slot claims it for your team, in your team's color.
  • Breaking a neutral or enemy block on a slot frees it again.
  • You cannot break your own team's wool, and you cannot build anywhere outside the platform.

Each team's share is tracked live, and the round ends the moment one team's share reaches the claim goal.

The platform scan walks the whole battle region block by block. Regions above roughly half a million blocks are skipped with a warning in chat rather than scanned โ€” keep the battle region tight around the arena.

#Team Colors

Wool is handed out in a color matched to each team, so the platform reads at a glance:

Team Wool
Red / Dark Red Red Wool
Blue / Dark Blue Blue Wool
Green Lime Wool
Dark Green Green Wool
Aqua Light Blue Wool
Dark Aqua Cyan Wool
Purple Purple Wool
Dark Purple Magenta Wool
Gray Light Gray Wool
Dark Gray Gray Wool
Yellow, Orange, Pink, White, Black The matching wool color

Players are handed wool when the round starts and again when they respawn, and their stack is topped back up whenever it runs low, so they never have to think about ammo.

#Match Settings

The Wool Wars rule's settings let you configure:

  • Platform Block - which block makes up the platform. Defaults to WHITE_WOOL. Any block name works, so a stone or clay platform is equally valid.
  • Claim Goal - what percentage of the platform a team must own to win the round. Defaults to 60.
  • Respawn Time - how many seconds players wait before respawning. Set to 0 to respawn immediately.
  • Wool Amount - how much wool players are handed, and topped back up to.
  • Action Bar - toggles an action bar showing how much of the platform each team owns.
  • Action Bar Format - the action bar text, using %teams% and %goal%.

#Placeholders

The Wool Wars add-on adds the following placeholders that you can use on the Scoreboard:

  1. %woolwars_claimed% - Returns how many slots your team owns.
  2. %woolwars_percent% - Returns your team's share of the platform, as a percentage.
  3. %woolwars_platform_size% - Returns how many slots the platform has in total.
  4. %woolwars_goal% - Returns the claim goal percentage.
  5. %woolwars_team1_claimed% through %woolwars_team4_claimed% - Returns that team slot's owned blocks.
  6. %woolwars_team1_percent% through %woolwars_team4_percent% - Returns that team slot's share.
