On hybrid servers such as Arclight, Youer or Mohist, the player who died in a duel can get kicked with multiplayer.disconnect.duplicate_login every time they try to rejoin. The server still holds a ghost copy of that player, so it rejects the new login.

The plugin respawns dead players itself when a world does not respawn them automatically, and some hybrids do not clean up the old player when that happens. Turn on immediate respawn in every arena world so the server respawns players on its own:

/gamerule doImmediateRespawn true

A server restart clears any ghost players that are already stuck.
